The AMS Ambicor is a 2 piece Inflatable penile prosthesis.
Its salient features are :
- It consists of 2 crural inserts. The reservoir for each rod is present in the proximal part
- The AMBICOR inflation pump does not have a deflating button. The deflation mechanism is activated by bending the rods and holding them for 10 to 12 seconds
- The implant does not become fully flaccid and retains 40 percent of its erection even after deflation
- The implant comes packaged in pre connected configuration
- The Ambicor packaging contains the rear tip extenders inside.
- The ambicor cylinders come in 2 girths – 12.5 and 14
- The Ambicor cylinders come in 5 lengths – 14, 16, 18, 20 and custom
- The failure rate of the Ambicor is approximately 15 years.
